"Fund for Sustainable Use of the Protected Areas in the Rhodope Mountains"

The "Fund for Sustainable Use of the Protected Areas in the Rhodope Mountains" represents the common effort of Bikearea Association, Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation and Association "Rhodopes - Everyone's Mountain" to preserve the Rhodopean nature as a long term resource for the sustainable development of the region.

The fund accumulates income from tourist visits along the "Trans Rhodopean Trail" which is connecting the protected areas in the Rhodopes.
To achieve the goals of the fund we sign agreements with tour operator companies and small local entrepreneurs who are willing to donate a percentage of their income based on tourist visits and mountain bike related products.

We believe that this way we are going to get the local communities and business involved in nature protection as a base for sustainable development.
